Redistricting
Drawing new maps for Arizona’s Congressional and Legislative districts based on the 2020 census is a critical function that will require our focus through the end of 2021.
The potential redistricting maps can be seen at this link Independent Redistricting Commission (az.gov). You can find the latest maps there and will be able to offer comments on the proposed maps on the site or participate in their listening tour scheduled for November 1-23. The exact times and places are expected to be announced shortly.
The October 26th meeting will cover the redistricting process in depth by a speaker from Fair Maps Arizona. This a watchdog group dedicated to educating Arizonans about the process and to make sure the Independent Redistricting Commission meets the Constitutional requirements for redistricting. Political Candidates
We will publish links to websites and social media sites for all Republican candidates that have filed a Statement of Interest with the Arizona Secretary of State’s office. You can see who’s running here and if you are interested in running for office you can find out how to do so on their site.
The 2022 election cycle has Federal Congressional and Senate races, Statewide Races, Legislative races. There are no county races. Since the School Board and City races do not have party affiliation, we will accept links for any candidates that has filed a statement of interest.
We are currently in Legislative District 16 and Congressional District 4. Redistricting is in process and schedules to be completed by January 2022. If it appears we will be in a different district we will accept links to candidates that may be representing the current Pinal District 5, whose boundaries aren’t expected to change significantly.
